While photos are certainly the most important part of your Tinder profile, if a girl is on the fence about your photos, the “About” section or Tinder Bio, can get you over the hump. Of course, neither of these parts are useful if you don't know how to send the right messages on Tinder.

The key to the “About” section is to come off as normal, whilst not boring. Humor is a plus as well, as long as you avoid coming off as a creeper on your Tinder Bio.

The “About” section of your Tinder Bio should be short, but give a brief and entertaining description of your life. Discussion of where you work/go to school, your goals, and your hobbies are fine. It is important for men who have gotten their Tinder pictures up to par and are still finding it difficult to attract more and get matches.

Many men just do not know how to start an “About” section in their Tinder Bio and end up getting no Tinder matches.

The Good News  about your Tinder Bio

If a girl takes the time to read your, “About” in your Tinder Bio section, then she is intrigued by you in some manner. She may already be enthralled by your photo and is reading your “About” to make sure you’re a normal guy. Or she may be on the fence about whether or not she finds you attractive.  We offer the Comprehensive Tinder Coach, will will help you create and manage your Tinder profile and messages.

The Goal Of The “About” Section in your Tinder Bio

The only reason you fill out your “About” section is to get more matches, more replies to your messages, and more girls messaging you first.

The only other benefit your “About” section can lend you is fodder when engaging in messaging conversations with girls. The best way to accomplish our goals using the “About” section is by creating a funny fact about yourself. This is where you can show some humor in your Tinder Bio.

Learning By Example when creating your Tinder Bio

Instead of elaborating too much on the “About” section, I am going to give you a brief ‘how-to’ on and then different examples of each aspect of your profile.

Good examples of a brief synapse of who you are, examples of funny facts, and then examples of full “About” sections. Read The Tinder Template for some great help.

*One item to note is your “About” section should be short, sweet, and to the point. You should never, ever use over 200 words in your “About” section. Fewer than 50 words is preferable, but I know some of you creative fuckers are long winded.

How To Write a Brief Synapse of Who You Are in your Tinder Bio

1. Keep Simple

These chicks just want to see a bit of normalcy and humor in your profile. Nothing crazy is needed. Simply put a bit about yourself. Avoid anything too quirky or corny. Quotes are also a big no-no in your Tinder Bio, unless done properly.

2. Displaying Ability in your Tinder Bio

Enjoying alcohol or partying is fine, but writing about liking to party and your drinking habits is lame. Most women desire a man who is not only stable, but also somewhat interesting. Nothing says I’m a fucking loser like your only hobby being drinking on the weekends. Men can write about their job or where they go to school in their Tinder Bio, but only with brevity.

3. Discuss Hobbies and Interests in your Tinder Bio

You do not need to be too descriptive in your Tinder bio. There is nothing wrong about being a huge fan of the sushi place down the street, but chances are most women will have no clue where that is. Be broad when writing your profile.

Instead of writing about that specific sushi place, a man could write about his affinity for sushi everywhere. This is much broader and chances are more women will be able to relate to loving sushi than loving one specific restaurant. This will make your Tinder Bio seen more well rounded.

A simple to get this point across is, “Sushi addict” or “Sushi is my favorite food group”

Examples Of “About” Section Synapses

Here are a few examples to clarify things for you:

“- London based, 6’2″, former professional athlete.

- Swedish. In Chicago for the weekend”

“Former pro MMA fighter in both Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Thai-Boxing. Just recently moved to NYC.”

“6’5” Something like an athletic accountant with a slight alcohol problem.”

“Collector of moments, not things. Lover of adventure, sushi, and wine.”

“Manhattan, Med School, Dog Lover.”

“- New York based graphic designer

- Surfing and traveling addict”

“Graphic designer. Yoga enthusiast. Sushi is my favorite food group."

“The least flexible guy in the yoga studio, but my downward dog is top notch.”

A few things to take note of with the examples: if you are above 6’2” it behooves you to list your height. Telling girls about your athletic prowess in a non-douche way in your Tinder Bio is beneficial. Briefly describing your job is also good. Talk of relocation or travel sparks a girl’s curiosity.

There are very little blocks of text here. Periods. Commas. Dashes. Break things up for these girls in your Tinder Bio. They do not want to read a full paragraph.

Using these examples as guidelines, any man should be able to come up with a brief synapses that attractively portrays who he is.

*If you are struggling to write about yourself, right when you wake up in the morning spend 15 minutes writing about yourself. You can write in a serious manner, a funny manner, whatever. Do this for a week. The compile what you have written and see if you can select a sentence or two for your profile. You’ll find you’re the most creative right when you wake up in the mornings. Brain fog is beneficial.

These synapses of a man’s life can be all you need in your Tinder “About” section. However, you can increase the response rate to your messages and the percentage of girls who message you first by using the methods below.

This article is about hooking up on Tinder:

Throwing a Funny Fact In Your Tinder Bio

Throwing a funny fact in your profile is a great way to get more matches, more responses, and more girls messaging you first.

The key to using funny facts in your profile is to avoid coming off like a creeper.

Instead of lecturing you on the in’s and out’s of funny fact “game”, I am just going to show you some examples:

Tinder Bio

Click here to make her Scream with delight!

“Professional pillow fighter.”

“Ranked 5th in the world for thumb wrestling.”

“Shakira told me my hips don’t lie.”

“Runner-up at the world championship of snuggling.”

“Naked & Afraid occasionally constitutes as foreplay for me.”

“I’m a virgin.”

“World champion of warm smiles.”

“I typically Tinder on the toilet.”

These funny facts are supposed to be humorous and kind of weird. The best topics/activities to use are: pillow fighting, thumb wrestling, snuggling, and petting dogs. When coming up with your own, think along those lines.

Our Comprehensive Tinder Coach is a great way to get results NOW !!!

Do not sexualize these any more than they already are. Anything past this level of “sexualization” will come off as creepy in your profile.

As well, the best way to start these is by either stating you are a professional or ranked. Examples:- Professional thumb wrestler.

- Professional dog petter.

- Professional snuggler.

- Ranked 7 in the world for dog petting.

- Ranked 3rd in the world for pillow fighting.

By inserting a funny fact into your profile, you make girls laugh while giving them something to talk about. Whether it be in the conversation you have or when she messages you out of the blue because you’re such a stud muffin!

Completed Tinder Bio “About” Sections

When you put the two aspects of your Tinder profile together, your “About” section is completed. Here are a few examples of great completed “About” sections. Make sure to keep the punctuation and spacing the same, minus the quotes:

  • “Manhattan, Med School, Dog Lover.

Ranked 4th in the world for thumb wrestling.”

  • “Collector of moments, not things. Lover of adventure, sushi, and wine.

Professional pillow fighter.”

  • “Former pro MMA fighter in both Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Thai-Boxing. Just recently moved to LA.

Shakira told me my hips don’t lie.”

The above examples all make for great Tinder Bio “About” sections. You give the girl a glimpse of what you are about combined with something that may make her laugh or cause her to message you first.

Make sure to avoid copying anything in this chapter. Take bits and pieces of the examples, but focusing on creating your own “About” section. Something that is congruent with who you are as a person and this could fix your problem of no Tinder matches. Just follow the guidelines above in your Tinder Bio and you’ll be set.

35 Replies to “How To Write Your Tinder Bio”

  1. Was thinking about how to modify my bio for my move to Poland and referenced your book. Got me thinking – every time I’m abroad I just put the simplest stuff and still get matches and responses.

“From Los Angeles, visiting XYZ country, want a cute girl to show me around.”

Works wonders, though obviously the “from LA” thing helps. But even if I took that out I’m sure I’d be fine. Point being, you don’t need anything elaborate to get matches, meetups, and bangs.

In America we might as well be swiping joke book just hoping that the next joke you land hits.

    See you in August, bro.

    1. Yeah, the “from LA” card definitely seems to work wonders overseas. Girls in the states really don’t give a damn where you’re from unless you have a cute accent.

And August…looking forward to it 😉

    2. I’m pretty sure I had nothing written in Colombia and it was match city. The biggest mistake I made was using Tools for Tinder and not focusing on a few girls at a time.

        1. Agreed. If I did it all over again, I’d start a new profile and only swipe girls that were super hot or had dat ass. Prolly add the LA thing too for shits n giggles. I’m retaking some of my photos just picked up a new suit, it’s at the tailors. Think I’m going to get some pro shots done cheaply in Europe or get a girl to take them there.

          1. Yeah, you really have to focus on quality in Colombia or time just flies. I’ve never heard of pro shots hurting anyone’s Tinder game. Looking forward to hearing how that goes.

  2. I have a question, does this bio sound good to you?23 years old, future sports writer, family oriented guy, dog person and an unpaid and undiscovered stand up comedian.

      1. What would be youreally suggestions then? Take out my age, family and unpaid? I was trying to make a joke with the unpaid meaning I’m funny and I don’t get paid for it. I can make girls laugh.

        1. Or would this be good? ‘m here looking for a girl who’s funny, smart, interesting and beautiful.

I’m a sports fan, I like watching good movies and listening to any type of music.

I also must admit that once you get to know me, I can be your personal stand up comedian

          1. That’s not good, either. You can find a bunch of free information on Tinder bios and online dating profiles throughout this site. If you’d like further info, I have a book on the topic and I offer consulting. I don’t write Tinder bios for free. Take care.

          2. I worked on my bio some more and I came up with this, what do you think? Sports writer, dog lover, undefeated world champion in cheap pick-up lines.

          3. I really need advice here because I have changed my bio constantly because I don’t think it is right. Here is my latest one: “English major, sports fan and a dog lover.
At night I put on a mask and cape and fight crime. Looking for a sidekick.
Still not persuaded? I’m the master of the cheesy pickup line.”

I tried to say something about myself while saying what I want in a girl and being funny at the same time. Plus I added a fact about my personality that would make her laugh at the end. Is this good? Or should I elaborate on some things? I really need feedback.

          4. I offer consulting, as I have told you. Feel free to click the “Hire Me” tab and get in touch. I’ve already told you I’m not going to write your bio for you for free. Best of luck.

  3. Pingback: Google
  4. I saw two guys, one who I went out on a date with, who had identical bios. If you’re telling guys to write “I’m not some cross fit jackass and my feelings don’t get hurt”…that’s good, but reinforce personal creativity. 🙂

  5. I do like the way you have presented this particular matter and it does indeed provide us a lot of fodder for thought. Nonetheless, coming from just what I have witnessed, I simply just hope when other feed-back pack on that individuals keep on issue and not start on a tirade associated with some other news of the day.
