Dangerously beautiful, Honduras has all the natural resources to be a great place to visit. Unfortunately, political corruption, drug wars and gang violence keep the country from blossoming.
If it wasn’t for family and the beautiful women, I wouldn’t find myself in mainland Honduras. It might be a bias opinion but I would argue that the Hondureñas rival Colombianas in terms of beauty. The difference between the two is that for every one sexy woman you find in Honduras you can find five more in the “friendlier” Colombia.
This is not a fear mongering post, to keep tourists away so I can keep the Hondurian women to myself. A quick google search of “highest murder rate in the world 2016” and the five years prior, shows Honduras consistently in the top five and even reaching the #1 spot in the past.
Let’s escape the danger for a moment and talk about the real reason why I keep coming back to Honduras. ROATAN!
With the second largest barrier reef in the world after Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, Roatan offers world class diving, clear water beaches and a lively night life.
In general there are three types of women on the the island.
The tourist, who, like you is there to have a good time.
The locals, who may or may not be attracted to your “foreigner value”, will be decent looking Honduras women looking for a good time..
Then there are the tourists hunters who will want you to pay for their “company” or find a way to get money out of you. Be careful of these women.
The place to be is always changing in Roatan. For night life just head down the west end strip and listen for the music. From there ask the locals for any other spots that they might recommend.
The big selling point for Roatan is how tourist friendly it is. People from all over the world come for the dives and white sands. About 75% of the people on the island speak English and it’s super safe, a sharp contrast to the mainland. One can be stumbling drunk at 3am and nobody will mess with you (been there). I love Roatan.
SAN PEDRO SULA
The industrial hub of Honduras is home to the highest murder rate per (100,000) in the world, San Pedro is not a place to casually take a stroll and ask for directions. In 2012, I went out to experience the nightlife and it was badass, now everybody stays home and you should too. When the sun goes down, the shops close for a reason. The everyday hustle and bustle turns into scenes from a zombie movie.
San Pedro is the most populous city in the country so it’s not surprising that you will run out of tinder swipes in 20 minutes. Latin American Cupid has about 25 active girls, IF that, and there is no “Honduran Cupid”.
If you want to chase Honduras girls you must come here. I recommend day gaming in the malls. The malls are safe and have many sexy ladies shopping. Try to be soft and gentle in your approach as almost everybody is guarded in Honduras.
In other words don’t be like the youtube videos were guys are chasing down chicks and tapping them on the shoulder. DONT DO IT. People will think our trying to jack them and the cops will put you down right away. Of course being fluent in Spanish is a must.
The capital is no better. With a smaller population than San Pedro and in the heart of the messy politics finding quality Honduras girls is hard. Also, it’s not an inviting town. Having never been there myself, the people who have tell me that San Pedro is way better, if you can believe that. Here is a great piece on just how “exciting” Tegucigalpa is if you care to learn more.
Inside the worlds deadliest country: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/inside-the-worlds-deadliest-country-honduras/
There was a saying in Honduras that Tegucigalpa thinks, San Pedro works and La Ceiba parties. La Ceiba was known as the party town that would host carnival type of events. In route to Roatan I would always travel through La Ceiba and kill time in the mall.
There was sooo many fine women in the mall, I would look forward to eating at the food court and watching the lovely ladies past by. This last time though, the mall was kinda dead with talent. I wondered why?
It wasn’t until I reached Roatan did I find my answer. Talking to a well traveled girl from Tegucigalpa, She told me that that La Ceiba is actually more dangerous than San Pedro. Even though the stats don’t show it. There is more lawlessness as the local police force is out gunned.
She went on to tell me a story that made me reconsider exploring La Ceiba in the future.
There was a Dr. eating lunch with his wife outside of a food stand. When a black vehicle pulled up, a man from inside said “ You have a pretty wife”. Sticking a gun to the husbands head, some goons came out and grabbed the wife. Never to be heard from again.
She also went on to say that the night life in La Ceiba was dead. What a shame, I had heard some many good stories but now I don’t think I’ll come back to La Cieba.
If you’re desperate to meet women from Honduras it’s not a bad choice, but just be aware there is some danger. I guess that is why all the sexy ladies don’t go out to any more.
Even for travelers fluent in Spanish, I wouldn’t recommend mainland Honduras. Besides the Mayan ruins in Copan, there isn’t much site seeing to do in the country. In terms of sexy Latinas: Honduras has them but again there is barely any online dating and almost no nightlife. Would not recommend.
While technically, Roatan is part of Honduras. It should be considered as it’s own entity. For all the negative press Honduras gets, Roatan is its polar opposite.
The best time to go to Roatan is during “semana santa” Honduras’s version of spring break. Usually the last week of March or the first week of April, it varies based on the year.
