Clearly – there is no magic pill or book of secrets you can read about how to get taller. Height is determined by genetics (diet and environment may play a small, small role) and nothing else. While you can go from a skinny guy to a meathead with years of hard work in the weight room and a lot of supplements – you can’t add inches to your height. Hell, you can even add inches to your penis, but you can’t make your actual head (the one with the brain in it) stand taller.
Why height matters?
Height matters, but at the same time – height is irrelevant. In the dating world, your height matters to a certain extent. Women instantly judge a man on his height. Some have even claimed height to be the most important aspect of a man’s looks. I disagree, but it’s safe to say women like tall men. All things being equal (look, style, game, frame, fame, etc.) and a chick will always choose the taller guy.
These harsh truths may ring true, but they certainly aren’t excuses for any man. No matter your height, you should still be dating women or a woman that you truly like. I’ve known numerous “short” men that absolutely slay. These dudes pull chicks left and right, and I’ve seen these dudes with some absolute stunners.
Now, this isn’t a post about height and dating. This is a post about how to get taller – and fast! With this in mind, there are two ways to “get” taller that I know of. The first way is cosmetic in nature. You won’t actually be growing any taller. You will simply look taller. The second method involves your posture and elongating your spine.
Without further ado – here’s how to get taller fast:
If you’re looking to get taller or appear taller within the next month, then you’re looking for shoes that add inches to your height. There really isn’t any other options when you want quick results regarding height. The problem is most shoes that add a couple of extra inches to your height look like shit. There are a few decent elevator shoe options on the market, but I prefer a little more style. Cowboy boots may have you looking large, but you’ll also look like a chode wearing them in a majority of the venues you visit.
Due to these facts, I prefer to wear boots. Boots are one of the most stylish shoe options on the market these days. I’m not talking about Timberlands or hiking boots. I’m talking about dress boots that look great with jeans and a blazer. Think something like this:
Boots like the above will instantly add an inch to an inch and a half to your “height” while still looking amazing. These boots are one of my favorite options these days. I also think these boots are great. Dress boots like these are expensive, but you get what you pay for. My last pair of dress boots lasted over two years, and I wore them daily.
*PS: If money is tight, these are a great option for cheaper dress boots.
This post isn’t just about dress boots and adding an inch to your height. If you’re like me, you’re probably a little greedy. You want to add a couple of inches at least. Don’t worry – I got you covered. When selecting your dress boots, you’ll want to order a half size larger than you normally do. If you normally rock a size 10, then order a size 10 ½. You’ll want a little extra space in your boots because we will also be adding a height increasing elevator insole to your boot.
These height increasing elevator insoles by Calden are fantastic. I highly recommend them – even if you don’t wear boots. These elevator insoles will add an inch to an inch and a half of additional height. And they are cheap at around $7 USD for a pair.
These Calden insoles come with 1-inch insoles and a detachable 0.5-inch insole. Personally, I only use the 1-inch insoles, but you can try using the full 1.5-inch insoles if you’re inclined to. I felt off balance when I tried them. The beauty of the dress boot and the Calden elevator insoles lies when you combine them. As dress boots often have a 1-1 ½ inch heel and the elevator insole adds 1-1 ½ inches – this combination will easily add 2-3 inches to your height (depending on how you configure things).
Not only will you be at least 2 inches taller when you head out – you won’t look like you’re walking on heels. You won’t look like you bought some awkward shoes from Wal-Mart. Your boots will be stylish as can be and no one will have any idea you’re essentially wearing elevator shoes.
*Pro-tip: The top of your foot may feel uncomfortable the first time you wear a new pair of boot with elevator insoles. This is normal. After 3-5 nights out in your new setup, the boots will stretch out and everything will feel normal.
The cosmetic enhancement I’ve listed above is a surefire way for men to look taller, but I know some guys actually want to get taller. The truth of the matter is this just isn’t possible without some crazy operations that certainly aren’t legal in the west or a lot of bull growth hormone. And from the stories I’ve heard – you don’t want to try either of those options.
You are as tall as you’ll ever be. Your bones and spine simply doesn’t continue growing upward once you’re past a certain age. However, you can maximize every inch of what you have. Due to years of sitting way too much, lifting weights, and not enough sleep – your spine has been compressed, and your posture is probably shit. By correcting your posture and stretching your spine, you can “add” up to two inches to your height.
Here’s how to get taller through exercise:
Yoga: I was hanging out with a couple of friends one day, and conversations about working out eventually came up after we got bored talking about pussy. Normal weight room workouts were discussed and then one of my friends piped up:
“I’ve been doing yoga six days a week for the last month.”
“Really? Why? You don’t go the weight room anymore?” I replied.
It turns out he didn’t. He needed a break from the weight room and decided to give yoga a try. He said he felt great and that one thing had surprised him:
“The weird thing is that I think I’ve grown a couple of inches over the past month. I visited my Grandma the other day, and she asked if I was still growing.”
I laughed, but then I thought back to the one time I join a hot yoga studio on a trial membership. After taking 10 or so classes over the course of my month, I did feel a bit taller. I went home that night and did some research about yoga and height. It turns out you can “grow” a little taller by doing yoga.
Yoga does tow things that are beneficial for guys looking to add height: improves posture and elongates the spine. I won’t dive too deep into the science behind this, but if you constantly do yoga 2-3 times a week over the course of three months, I believe you will “be” at least an inch taller.
Other exercises: Yoga is by far the best exercise to add inches of additional height. There are a few others that may help some guys. This posture exercise created by Mike is great for improving posture and standing up straight. Doing this exercise won’t increase your height, but your posture will improve.
How to grow taller – 3 to 4 Inches “Guarenteed.”
You can appear 3-4 inches taller in three months with these tips and still look stylish. Grab a pair of boots. Add some of these insoles. Then join a yoga studio. If you’re a guy curious about how to get taller – just do the above and I “guarantee” you’ll be 3-4 inches taller before you know it.
